The Objectives of the Association are to:
- Provide a forum to facilitate professional development for all members;
- Provide industry representation and influence on all policy and decision making matters
relating to financial management within and on behalf of the health industry;
- Upgrade and the organisational status of financial management professionals throughout the
health industry;
- Provide opportunities for industry networking and information exchange locally,
nationally and internationally;
- Establish a code of ethics and monitor professional standards amongst practitioners in the
healthcare industry;
- Promote and facilitate research into issues relating to financial management in the
healthcare industry and recognise support research relating to the scholarship fund;
- Enhance the standing of the healthcare industry financial management at a peer level in other
industries;
- Liaise with the appropriate regulatory bodies in developement of standards within the healthcare industry;
There are also many activities undertaken by the Association including:
- Regular workshops of interest to the industry;
- Publication of the Association newsletter;
- Annual two day conference;
- Participation in industry forums regarding financial management matters and
representation on committees considering matters of interest to the health care
industry;
- Award of Annual Scholarship(s)to enable individual Association member(s) to
develop towards their full potential and to further enhance the image of the
Association intrastate, interstate and overseas;
- Development of criteria for the award of an annual Scholarship(s);
- Commentary on matters of importance to the industry such as Casemix funding,
financial reporting including annual accounts, general funding systems, Auditor
General reports and age care funding;
